Text appears as blocks in Konqueror

Hello, sometimes the text on a page appear as blocks (as if a particular glyph is missing) Here is what I have tried so far:
Using installed fonts
Using system core fonts (I.e Utopia, Times, Courier, Helvetica)
Changing encoding settings (manually to iso 8859-1, to iso 8859-15, and automatic methods.
[/list:u]
Most pages will appear correctly. One specific example:
http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT3216344382.html
All text above "Gregory Haerr (January, 2002)" appears normal, all body text does not. When the page is viewed in Mozilla/Netscape, it views correctly.

Some system info:
Slackware 8.1
KDE 3.1 CVS (April 4, 2003)

Thanks in advance
Re: Text appears as blocks in Konqueror

hello,
everytime you'll find such a page with "broken" fonts in konqueror it's 99% fault of the page's html/css code (the wrong font specification could be sometimes hidden e.g. in a linked *.css file) and you should report it to the author. it's not konqueror's fault.

in this case the obsolete <font face="Times New Roman"> specification which doesn't offer an alternative font specification (at least 'serif' should be specified after 'Times New Roman') causes konqueror have to guess which one of fonts installed on your system to use when the font specified is missing. btw: i see the page right, because i have Times New Roman ttf installed.

i must addmit that the "guessing" of konqueror which font to use as system default isn't quite perfect (it seems it takes 'first which it gets') but maybe you can try specifiing your own css stylesheet in konqueror's settings -> konfigure konqueror -> stylesheets where u can choose "use accessibility stylesheet..." and then in Customize tab specify the "font family"...
