shell, that is like command line right? I'm new to linux.
Alright so I'm running SuSE 9.1 Personal with KDE 3.2.
I messed with the stupid video settings and now when it tries to load the GUI all I see is horizontal lines.
I need to reset defaults.
So how can I do that via the shell?
Thanks,
Poz
The configuration tool of SuSE is called yast2 and it works on the command line, too. This is handy in cases like yours where the chosen graphical desktop does not work.
So, just start yast2 and reconfigure your graphics hardware.
In case you do know how to get to a console: Ctrl-Alt-F1 switches you to the first one.
