Sound fubar on iBook

Hi! My name is Nick, and I am new to the forums! Anyway, I just upgraded to kde 3.3 from kde 3.2. On kde 3.2, sound was working beautifully... Now, after doing nothing but upgrade to 3.3, sound is garbled to the point where most of the time you can't depict the sound. I am running debian unstable with linux 2.6.7 ( with ALSA )

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Fixed

Okay, everyone, I fixed it. And, don't think I am some stupid jerk who wouldn't tell you how he answered this... No... I'm different... Send me an email at live@nickv111.is-a-geek.com if these steps helped you:

#1: If you don't have play, install it now. It is commonly known as sox. On debian ( which I use ), it's as simple as apt-get install sox.
#2: Go to tools->sound->system notifications.
#3: Click player settings, and check the "Use external player" box. In the textbox, type "play". Click OK. The sound should be working now!

The only problem I am having now is that juk doesn't want to use these settings, and the sound is still fuzzy... If anyone can point me to something that would fix this, please don't hesitate to.
