Startup sound & keysyms

Hi,

Distro: Mandrake 9.1
I'm kinda new to Linux/KDE, so these might be stupd questions:

1. Is there any way to change the sound that plays when loading KDE ?

2. I would like to use the multimedia keys on my keyboard. I've used xev to capture the keycodes. The keycodes can be linked to XF86 keysyms, using xmodmap.
Is there any way in KDE to link the keysyms to launching apps, volume control etc ?

Thanks in advance

Sounds on startup

Hallo!
Yes, you can change the sound at the startup from KDE. You can do this in KControl / Sound & Multimedia / System Notifications.
Choose "KDE System Notifications" from the combobox at the top, click on "KDE is Starting Up" and than you can edit the sound in the field "action".

Have fun. :)

Connecting keystrokes to programs and whatnot can be done under Control Center/Regional & Accessibility/Keyboard Shortcuts. At least, I hope it's there for you too, since I use a recent CVS version of KDE

Assigning Keystrokes to programs can be done in the menu editor.
