upgrading from 3.2 to 3.3

Hi,

I am a linux newbie and I currently run kde 3.2.3 on slack 10 with the 2.6.8.1 kernel.

I would like to upgrade my kde to 3.3 and that stir a few questions in my mind...

* How do I best go about to upgrade kde? Can I use wget and the pkinstall thing? Never used those before, but I am aware of their existance.

* Can I remove all or some of the 3.2 kde stuff when I am done? Do I use the removepk something?

Hints and advices are more then welcome!

The only part I can answer is the 2nd part, about removing 3.2....

Once installed, you'll have 2 kde directories... 3.2 and 3.3.... There are a few things I had to copy over such as some wallpapers and a few other things, but nothing major. Once I copied what I needed, I deleted the 3.2 directory.

Mind you this is a Gentoo system. It might be a little bit different.
-- rm -fr /etc/whitehouse
-- Gentoo | udev | Xorg 6.8.2 | 2.6.14-r4 | KDE 3.5.0
