kdeinit file too big!

Hi, I really like the KDE gui but im having a problem with the kdeinit file using far too much memory once the systems been running for a few hours. It starts up fine but gradually kdeinit gets larger and chokes up the system. I re-installed kdelibs which kdeinit belongs to, to no avail.
I'm running KDE with Slackware on a 850mhz system with 128M ram
Anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure it's kdeinit? I experience no problem with kde 3.2.2 (PII 300MHz 384MB RAM)

There are lots of kdeinit entries but that happens because most things were started from KDE and lots of memory is shared. If you look through ksysguard you can see the actual processes that were started with kdeinit (choose tree).

So may 128Mb is not enough for the applications you are running and all you see eating memory is kdeinit because everything was lauched from kde.

Ok thanks loads for the tip mk4tub, (ksysguard). It seems to be the kjobviewer app, thats choking things up (getting larger over time). I had 2 small print jobs in que for some months, they seem to keep kjobviewer open. Anyway i killed the process, and things started working again. Still, kjobviewer shouldn't increase in size like that.

If this is the same bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62945 then it seems fixed in KDE 3.1 and up.

Which version do you have?

If you have a 3.1.x ou 3.2.x or even 3.3.x then maybe you should reopen the bug.

The version is 3.1.4
Looks like the same bug.
Probly the easiest fix would be to upgrade kde, hey?

Probably...
Installing the latest version gives you the latest bugs so you won't be irritated by them for a while because the are new. :-)
