hmm, problem trying to start kde.

ok, im TRYING to run FreeBSD. I installed Freebsd all perfect and everything i can log into root etc. KDE came on the disc (Lite version ?? :? ) i typed in exec kde, it comes up Cannt connect to X server. i've tryed to configure the X server but EVERY time i configure it and im done it comes up "It seems to have failed do you want to try again
"
i do click yes redo it and it still says failed!



PLEASE HELP!!

Well, for starters, we need to make sure you know all of the specs of your video environment, namely, video card and monitor sync/refresh rates. This is required (obviously) in order to configure X.

Next, what method are you configuring X? Either way, can you post your XF86Config file (if you can, remove all lines commented out)?

You need to first get X up and running before even attempting to get kde up and running, but you probably already know this...
