KDE Menu cleanup!

Hi All,

Just have a question. I've just started using KDE, and when I installed my distro (Slackware) I chose the full install, so some packages which were installed are no longer needed.

I have removed some of these, although there are some links in KDE menu that are non existant.

Are there any apps out there to "refresh" the menu so it removed all the invalid ones?

What about using kmenuedit to delete those entries by hand. To run kmenuedit rightclick on the K menu and select "Menu Editor" or simply remove the invalid entries under ~/.kde/share/applnk.

Cool, thanks Ill check it out.

Also, what is the easiest way of removing unwanted items? I know packages can be removed via pkgtool, although there are some things I dont need / want, like the 1000 different browsers and text editors :) which arent in pkgtool, or even programs like KOrganiser etc

As you already mentioned, the cleanest way would be to remove the complete package, but when there's no package you could at least remove the menu entries with kmenuedit.

You could also remove all files belonging to that item by hand looking under $KDEDIR.
