Secondary KMenu in Panel

In SuSE 8.2 there was a "Work Menu" in the Panel right next to the KMenu where the most important and favorite applications could be launched. But now in 9.0 it's gone, so I tried to duplicate it by adding a second KMenu and deleting all it's contents in hopes that I could then add my favorites.

Well guess what? BOTH of my KMenus were emptied out, not just the one I right-clicked on to get the KMenuEditor! I solved that problem (by creating a new user,) but I'd like to know if there's a way to add a "drawer" style (as I beleve they're called in Gnome,) menu added to the panel in the style of SuSE old "Work Menu" so I can add my favorite applications?

Thanks for any pointers.

You can do something like this with a quickbrowser.
Create a folder somewhere, put the .desktop files of the programs inside and use this folder as the starting point for the quickbrowser button.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll do that.
