I recently upgraded KDE from 3.0.3 to 3.05a on mdk linux 9.0 (2.4.19.-24mdk), and have run into an annoying error message everytime I print from Acrobat Reader 5.0. Please note that this is a home network, and I do not use NIS services. I've also posted this issue on Mandrake Expert, but no help from them. Here is the error, once I launch the print request to kprinter and click on the [OK] button to confirm that the job was sent to the printer:
Acrobat Reader (dialog box):
sh: line 1: ypcat: command not found
KDirWatch: /etc/security/fileshare.conf is a file. Use addFile!
Please note that the contents of fileshare.conf are:
RESTRICT=no
I do receive my printed output, but the error message is annoying. However, if I send the print request directly to lpr, I do not receive the error. Also, I have two printers (HP LJ5MP and DJ855Cse) hung off a Hawking PN7337 dedicated print server, so I do not have any printers attached to my linux or windows systems, they reside on the network.
Lastly, CUPS is installed and has been configured with these printers as a side effect of upgrading KDE. When I initially setup my linux system, I only setup the printers as lpr devices. However, I prefer to use KDEprint going forward, but need some help to address this error message.
Best Regards,
Bill
