[Kopete] Can't connect to MSN (Error: 17)

A google search shows that Kopete has often problems connecting to MSN (fails with an Error: 17 message). It happens here a lot too. Today I can't connect at all (trying for 2 hours now). Pidgin and amsn have no problems. :|

Trying to connect again and again results in a dialog saying "connection actively refused".

No proxies involved. Kopete 0.12.7 (using KDE 3.5.9).

I found out that disabling the "Connect automatically at startup" option and connecting manually by hand works as a workaround.

OK, I think the culprit is the "Now Listening" plugin. I tried to connect 10 times and couldn't. Disabled the plugin, restarted Kopete, can connect fine. Restarted again, connecting works fine. Enabled the plugin, restarted, can't connect. Tried a few more times, same; can't connect. Disabled the plugin again, I can connect fine.

So I think "Now Listening" breaks at least MSN. The erratic behaviour I had while connecting to MSN probably depended on whether I was listening to something (Amarok) or not.
