I have limited experience with installing from source, but Im fine with learning. Im also really excited about the direction KDE is going, and I have a Kubuntu install with KDE 4.0. I want to try out the beta. Can someone link me to some good step by step directions?

I second that motion. Just finished getting Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE4.0 all updated. Everything is running fine. It is on a older Compaq Armada that is personal but not critical. So I can afford to trash. I too have little to no knowledge of updating KDE itself. One concern is how the system will switch versions or does the install overwrite the existing. I 'm certainly knowledgeable enough to follow a set of directions. Much appreciated.

On a related note, when going into Adept I see a KDE package that is not installed but is installable. Doesn't say which version, only "Candidate: 5.47". Can anyone say which version ........... can't possibly be 4.1?
