KDE Login Manager

Hi,

(using Fedora 7 + all updates + KDE 3.5.7-21)

I was using the login configuration from the gdmsetup util (This seems to be the default). That was working fine, but I wanted to use the login config from the KDE - Control Centre/Login Manager.

I configured all the relavent options in Control Centre/Login Manager, and I also created the fle /etc/desktop and added the line DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE".

When I restart Fedora, it loads the correct/new config from Control Centre/Login Manager (Not gdmsetup). But, when I type my password and login, it just gives me a terminal display, no KDE desktop?

I get back to my original settings, by just commenting out the line in /etc/desktop.

How can I get this to work?

Thanks,
Nick.

RE: KDE Login Manager

I've fixed it now.

The way I fixed my problem was to delete all of my kdmrc files (locate kdmrc). Once I did this, it seems that kdm recreated a default kdmrc file, which loaded KDE. I then used the Control Centre - Login Manager - to reconfigure my own login settings.
