KDE logout closes certain apps badly

Hi! When logging off (reboot/shutdown/manual logging off) and then logging back on:

1) Iceweasel (Firefox) says its session crashed and if I'd like to restore it. Doesn't matter if TabMixPlus' sessions or the built in ones, only the text in the popup windows differs ;-)
2) VMware's *.lck lock files are left lying on the disk from the previous run, and the relevant guest OS won't open until I delete the locks.

How would I prevent this from happening? (and especially for the smart ones: while still enjoying "autostart" :D)) Thanks.

P.S.: using KDE 3.5.5 in Debian Etch.

Those 2 programs doesn't integrate with kde well. Close them before exiting.

And what for? Clicking the "restore session" button every time, or removing the locks in a shell script upon login are equally good solutions. Heh, thanks anyway...
