Adept & Adept Notifier not working

Adept & Adept Notifier not working

I am trying to install Kubuntu Fiesty Fawn on a friends computer. I cannot us Adept Notifier or Adept.I get the following error:

You will not be able to change your system settings in any way (install, remove or upgrade software), because another process is using the packaging system database (probably some other Adept application or apt-get or aptitude). Please close the other application before using this one.

No other installation program is running. Any answers?

You might wanna try to ask this on Kubuntu-forums since this forum is more KDE related, and Adept and Feisty are Kubuntu related issues :)

However, I am amazed how low-frequent is this forum. Hope all's fine...
