shortcut to paste text

Hi there!

I'm looking for somethink to paste some text like with "win + G" (shortkey). in thunderbird or anything else. is there somethin to do it ?
Perhaps with klipper?
or Control center ?

I mean at anytime, not only when I haved copy before.
I need a permanent shortkey to paste the text...

On mine (Debian Etch) the global shortcut is just the middle mouse button (mouse-wheel in this case).
Is that what you meant?

Not entirely sure what you mean here. How can you paste text if you haven't copied it first?

Unless you mean pre-copied / stored text from a user-defined list? In which case, Klipper would be your best bet, but I think it's still a bit long-winded and not really a "shortcut"...

I know exactly what you're talking about, but don't know how to do it. I would love it if somebody could teach both of us how to do this. what he is looking for is how to turn a shortcut key or a function key into a paste "text" key.

For example: any time i press F10 or win-n my name would appear and format itself to match the text around it. That way i wouldn't have to type my full name each time. I know there are less efficient workarounds (and maybe a name is a bad example, perhaps each press of F11 prints your email address), but i would love to know how to do this. Thanks!
