How can I stop KDE on remote sessions?

Can anybody tell me how to prevent remote users from starting KDE?

I would only like local users to be able to use a KDE session. When users start to launch KDE remotely, the performance of the machine significantly decreases.

The version installed is KDE 3.5 on SUSE linux v10.1

Thank you in advance for any help.

perhaps you can create a special group for users that are allowed to run kde and add local users to that group.
Then change the permissions of kde-binaries to ensure that only users of that group may execute them.

if you only want to prevent the kde-desktop from running remotely but not single kde applications, you only need to adjust the binary/script startkde

Thanks for the information. I'll take a look at the start up script.
