Can't view previously archived mail extracted from tar file into inbox or sent-mail folders. I've reinstalled my whole system and extracted all my mail from my backed up tar file into the /home/USER/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/*/cur folders. I am using maildir format. All the messages in the the local folders except for those in inbox and sent-mail, are able to be viewed. The messages are there in the foldername/cur folder i.e. /inbox/cur, but for some reason they don't show up in the message panes in KMail? I can move them into a new local folder (e.g. 2007mail) and they are browseable via KMail, but I want to know why I can't see them in the inbox window? Any idea's? PS I have tried the import function and this makes no difference.
