Help understand Quanta Projects

I'm fairly new to Linux and am trying get up to speed on various KDE tools. Quanta looks very good, but I'm a bit confused/puzzled by the Projects feature. Just how is it supposed to work?

I have several web sites I administer, with copies of the custom files on my machine. My practice has been to modify and check the local files and then upload them when I'm satisfied with the results.

If I use Quanta's project feature, it seems that I am working directly with the remote files. Or am I not understanding Quanta's approach. I suspect/suggest that the help file could use some words explaining the philosophy/paradigm/process behind the Project function. It is not at all clear to me how it is expected to be used.

Anyway, thanks for an impressive package. I love the ability to colapse sections of the code, even if that ability is not well documented. :)

There doesn't seem to be anybody here, so I guess I will just forget this forum in the future. ;(

RE: Help understand Quanta Projects

Quanta projects are very useful ways to group files that go into a web site. You can create a project, add files to it from a web site or your local disks, and work with them as a group.

When you create a project you create an upload profile. This tells Quanta where to put the files once you have edited them and wish to publish them. I edit the files in my website in a project on my local disk. Then I upload them to my server with the FTP protocol right inside Quanta (kioslave). Web development couldn't be easier.
