make knetworkmanager use kwallet

no matter what I do, I cannot get Knetwormanager to use kwallet. It doesnt add itself and I can't find a way to add it. How do you force knetworkmanager to use kwallet? Thanks for any info.

RE: make knetworkmanager use kwallet

I don't know much about knetworkmanager but I wonder if it does support KWallet at all.

according to it's po-file, it does :)

somewhere in the configuration of knetworkmanager should be this option:

Save password in KWallet

RE: make knetworkmanager use kwallet

OK, so it does support KWallet. Is there a entry in KWallet's block list? You can go there by opening kwalletmanager -> Settings -> Configure Wallet -> tab Access control. If knetworkmanager is marked as blocked, remove the entry and try to save the password again from KWallet.

Thanks for all the replies, but kwallet is not being blocked (no entry in the tab access at all mentioning Knetworkmanager.)

In knetworkmanager I don't see a checkbox to use kwallet anywhere.

And the bad thing is, it will stay connect to my hidden ssid wpa encrypted wap unless knetworkmanager uses kwallet to store the WPA passphrase....

Bram85, You said you don't use Knetworkmanager, what do you use?

Perhaps a bug then. Maybe bug 141542 is related. Or submit a new bug if your case has not been reported yet.

By the way, I don't use a network manager (no wireless at home). However, next weekend I'm going to play with tools at FOSDEM so that I can test it. I heard also of kwlan, I heard someone saying he likes that better than knetworkmanager. kwlan is to be found at http://www.kde-apps.org .

I have kwlan installed but it keeps saying it cant start the wpa_supplicant I have that installed and I noticed one other thing There are 3 icons kwlan puts in the dock... the kwlan with the k and the green wavelengths show, but the other two just look like pieces of paper. what do I need for it to work?
