Gtk apps' style in KDE

Gtk apps' style in KDE

Hello!
How to change Gtk apps' style in KDE? I've tried login Gnome and change style there but it affects only Gtk apps IN Gnome. But in KDE, Gtk apps' style remains the same. The question arise from following:
I use widget style "QtCurve". it's aviable for KDE and Gnome and widgets in both environments looks pretty the same. But even this style settings in Gnome doesn't affect Gtk apps in KDE.

How about trying to go to KControl > Appearances > GTK Styles and Fonts?
OS: Kubuntu 6.06 LTS (Dapper Drake) | KDE 3.5.3
Computer Specs: AMD Sempron 2200 1.5Ghz | VIA KM266 Pro 8235 chipset | nVidia GeForce MX 4000 128MB DDR-RAM 32-bit AGP 8x

I have KDE 3.5.3 and there's no "Gtk Styles Fonts" menu item in "Appearance & Themes".

P.S. Qt apps in Gnome remember KDE's style settings. It's strange why Gtk's in KDE don't.

You can run gnome-theme-manager from the command line to set the style settings for the session, but they won't be remembered after a restart. Plus, doing this will start gnome-screensaver.

GTK Styles and Fonts comes with gtk-qt-engine (at least that's the package name on Fedora), but I found that if I use it, the OpenOffice toolbars get messed up.

It was all working fine for me in Fedora Core 4, but now in FC5 (on a different machine) I get the same problem as a550ee. No idea what I've done differently...

I use Plastik widgets in KDE, and even if it used Clearlooks widgets for the GTK apps I'd be happy.

Looks like I found a fix here:

Short version:

delete ~/.gtkrc-2.0

From ~/.bashrc delete the lines:

the 'KControl > Appearances > GTK Styles and Fonts' menu is available if you install the theme engine called GTK-Qt.

alternatively, you can install 'GTK Theme Switch' which gives you the command-line tools 'switch' and 'switch2' to change gtk and gtk2 themes, respectively.
