system:/media/ not functional

Hello, when I open the URL system:/media/hdc , in Konqueror and it shows the content of /dev/hdc, which is my CD Rom drive, when I double click an mp3 file in that folder it puts it in amarok's playlist, but doesn't play it. The lenght field is empty (on amarok <1.4 that field was question-mark "?") and nothing happens...

It is easy for me to change the system:/media/hdc/ to media:/hdc (which apparently works) but to a newbie user is pretty UFO-ish...

Kaffeine behaives even worse (it copies the video files from system:/media/ to /tmp), so this makes it even tougher for newbies...

See http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120249 . You could change the multimedia engine to solve this issue.

But you can't change the mm engine to Kaffeine, it depends on Xine 50% for its purpose :S

That's bug 115539 :) There's a patch attached to this bug report, it might work.

RE: system:/media/ not functional

I hope this goes to CVS and gets ready for the next release ;) End users get confused...
