XGL and compiz

At the moment, I am trying to have XGL and compiz working with KDE. It is running fine with gnome, but I want to use it with kde. The problem is, that I may only have KDE with gnome window-decorations.

I followed these instructions. Is there any commmand to get back my KDE window-decorations? Any command that can replace

Currently, kde-window-decorator is not ready. Zach is working on it, but honestly there's not much point to it other than matching the KDE window menus. Neither gnome-window-decorator or kde-window-decorator take the configured decoration for the respective kwin or metacity. There is a way to configure the theme for compiz but I haven't found any other themes out there to use. So in short, you will never get your KDE window decorations with compiz. Sorry. A little tip with running compiz with KDE. Get rid of the system tray. There's a bug somewhere in either the system tray applet or kicker that causes kicker to crash when you quit certain system tray applications. Also Z-ordering for dock applications doesn't work yet. In other words, applications like kxdocker and superkaramba will always be in front of ALL the windows and there's nothing you can do about it. It sucks, I know. Personally, I switched to KXDocker to not have a need for the system tray, and don't use superkaramba anymore. KXDocker with compiz now supports real alpha blending. It looks VERY good. I still wish I could use superkaramba though. Best of luck!

just move user/.kde/autostar/compiz.desktop to another place and click it when you want to start compiz session in any moment

That's not what I was saying. That's what I do now. But if compiz became the default window manager for kde and gnome, then we would have a window manager with at least double the development team and the kde guys could concentrate more on the plugins to get it to act how they want in kde. Cheers!

You can solve this issue by patching the superkaramba sources and recompiling it.
