webcam help needed!

Guys,
I need help configuring my webcam with Kopete.
I have Philips PCVC680K. My OS is Suse 10.0 with KDE 3.5.1. I'm unable to configure my webcam.on the devices tab it shows "Philips 680 Cam" as the Device, "Webcam" as the "input". The standard is blank. Is this the problem? All I see is a blank screen on this tab.

I have the same problem.
Camera working flawlessly in gnomemeeting but only produces pitch black in kopete. I would guess that it is some sort of IOCTL problem becaus all the gauges fort brightness/contrast/color is all in maximum left position regardless of what settings was used before. Kopete also have a nasty habit of crashing occationaly when I leave the webcam settings dialog.
Does anybody have a solutions for this (or similar) problems?

upgrade to 0.12 and see if your issues are fixed. lots of improvements have been made to the video code. (the beta that should be out in a few hours would be best to try)

Hi.
Now I have tried the new 0.12-beta2 releas, but the error still remains. Pitch black image from my camera both in local and remote end. I can see my buddies cams without any problem, but he/she can't see me. Just black.

I have a Philips Vesta Pro PCVC680K and using the free PWC-module version 10.0.11.
Any help would be apreceated.

Regards
Henrik

Same issue with Logitech Webcam Pro 4000

Hi

I too have had problems with Kopete working with my Logitech(Philips) Webcam Pro 4000. I am using the most recent free PWC modules and it works perfectly in Xawtv, with the exception on a "no overlay" error when staring xawtv, but it carries on and fires up with no issues and allows me to take snapshots and record video.

However in Kopete it detects the webcam fine but I just get a black screen in the configuration screen.

This would be really nice if I could get this up and running.

I am having the problem that my logitech quickcam express, the old oldie webcam, appears to make a passable color image on my side, but the recipients tell me that all they see is a milkly, very low contrast, gray scale image that is hard to see.

Darn! I was really hoping for this feature, I really need webcam capability because my wife is living overseas right now and I need to see her and she me.
