USB Auto-mounting

Hi everyone,

Has been a few days i'm trying to sort this out but a could'n find the way!
When i plug a flash drive or even my MP3 player, they are automaticly mounted in "/media" but they don't appear on the desktop with the other icons neither on the storage media panel (in KDE) where they should pop as "mounted removable medium".
I would love to have the icon ready to used once i pluged them in; the way it is now, i have to open Konqueror and browse the folders to get to /media/flashdrive or /media/mp3player...
is it possible to do that?
By the way, i'm using SUSE 10.0, kernel 2.6.13 and KDE 3.5; also have just 2 weeks using Linux, so please be gentle! hehehe
Thanks

In your control-center -> Desktop -> Behaviour, in the tab "Icons ..." (sorry, I translate freely from my french vesion), you can choose the items you wish to be displayed on the desktop.

RE: USB Auto-mounting

yeh... but that's exactly where the problem is, because the icons are already set to appear on the desktop, but they just don't!
When I insert a USB flash drive I even get that message: " new USB stick detected" and then it ask me if I want to open it or ignore it! but whatever i do i'll never see the bloody icon anywhere, so whenever i need it again i'll have to dig it in the folders!
I just recently re-intalled everything and on the first login the icons are there, everything working beatyfully as they should, but as soon i reboot the machine i don't have that feature anymore. I guest must be something that is rewrinting some config file every time I boot the computer and that is causing this faulty behavior!
well I hope I can fix that some day!
thanks
