Splash Screens

Im a total newbie to Linux and just got Linspire a few weeks ago i have found a few Splash Screens that i think are awesome but cant seem to figure out how to go about installing them. Can anyone help me out plz.

I did and it still doesnt work. And it says i need the Moodin theme or something.

Move the tarball into ~/.kde/share/apps/ksplash/Themes (or create the right directories first if they don't exist yet). Then extract the tarball. The splash screen should now be visible in KDE Control Center.

Ok i did that and now it says cant load configuration file sheesh i just cant win can i.

In the Splash module, you can also click Add. A file dialog will appear, where you can select the downloaded file from kde-look.org. Then the file will be automatically installed and added to the list.

Ok i think i pretty much have this figured out but where in the kdmrc file do i put
?? Theme=~/.kde/share/apps/kdm/themes/"THEMENAME"

The theme has nothing to do with splash screens. It's a KDM theme, for giving nifty looks to your login manager.

When I tried to install the specified splash screen, it asked me to install a certain plugin (didn't remember it's name). Are you sure you have installed that?

Ok i guess i need to update my KDE then cuz i have version 3.3 and that needs 3.4+ that could be why its not working properly
