konqueror nav tree - removing compressed?

Is there anyway to prevent Konqueror from displaying compressed files (e.g. .zip, .gz, .xpi, etc.) in the Navigation Tree? At the very least, how about the ability to force them to sort seperately from the folders within the nav tree?

Also, if possible, I would just asume prevent being able to browse within compressed files in Konqueror at all.

Note: this was asked on 10/22/05; however, no replys were given -

- thanks

RE: konqueror nav tree - removing compressed?

Hy, I've installed slackware 10.2 right now and had the same problem... It's quite annoying.

After a bit of googling I came on this page:
http://wiki.kdenews.org/tiki-index.php?p…nfig%20Settings
which is about things that aren't GUI configurable.

basicly, you have to edit a file named:
~/.kde/share/config/konqsidebartng.rc
adding:

ShowArchivesAsFolders=false"

at the START of the file.

hope it's useful to others too, it was a bit difficult to find out.
