mouse behaviour

It took me a while to be able to explain what i do not like about mouse behaviour in Linux and OSX, but no I know and so hopefully i can ask a clear question.

In linux and OSX the mouse pointer has a lag. It is best explained by:

When in linux or OSX you put two thick books on your desk and leave a space of 5 cm (or inch, whatever you like) between them for your mouse to move from left to right between the books the distance your mousepointer travels on your screen depends on the speed at which you move your mouse between the books. Moving the mouse slowly results in a small space traveld by the pointer on the screen. Moving yor mouse quickly between the books makes the mouse travel a greater distance.

I do not want this! i feel it in my arms. I think it causes RSI more quickly (at least for me). I want the pointer to move the same distance on the screen wether i move the mouse slowly or quickly between te two books.

Is this possible in KDE? tweaking around with the mouse settings in Control panel did nothing (at least not what i want).

In other words: i want my mouse to behave the way a mouse behaves in Windows. Yes, Windows. Let me quickly add that that is the ONLY thing that i like best in windows over osx or linux.

Many thanks in advance.

RE: mouse behaviour

Change the acceleration ratio.
Its as simple as opening kcontrol -> peripheral -> mouse.
