i have been working all day on this and want to explain the problem thoroughly
hardware:
x2 3800
2 gig ram
SATA 160 gb
asus a8n sli premium
dvd burner

software
i installed x64 stage 3 and i used genkernel after multiple unsuccessful attempts at the grub bootloader when i did manual configuration of the kernel. i put -march=k8 which is working with -j3 configuriedi got the bootloader to work after installing using genkernel and am able to sign in to root so my next move was to install kde. i followed the instructions and put the use variables qt and kde in and then tried to emerge kdebase-startkde and it got to the 6th package and i get the following error, my use variable is: USE="kde qt" and i get the following error:

../../lib/GL/glx/glapi_x86.5:29:22:assyntax.h:No such file or directory
../../lib/GL/glx/glapi_x86.5:30:26:glapioffsets.h:No such file or directory
Make[5]:***[../../lib/GL/glx/glapi_x86.o]Error1

There are more errors that all correspond to the above so i left them out because these were the VERY first ones

Error:x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r4 failed
Functions build, line 973, Exit code 2
make World failed

I really want to fix this because I am sick of these errors
