Cyrillic Fonts in Konqueror

Hi,

I have a problem with Cyrillic (Russian) fonts when using Konqueror in FTP mode.
It is not showing Russian fonts correctly, i.e. gibberish or nothing at all, and have tried few encoding in options - utf-8, cp 1251, koi8-r, iso 8859 and Use Language encoding.

Same happens with any other FTP apps, such as gftp, kasablanca, etc and even with mid-nigth commander.

Other than that, everything else seems fine when handling Russian fonts - Konq sees file names in Russian (locally sotred or through Samba), can type in console, OpenOffice.

Can someone assit me with this, as I am unable to find a solution.

I am running SuSE 9.3 (32bit) with KDE 3.4 (it was same in previous version with KDE 3.3.x)

RE: Cyrillic Fonts in Konqueror

The issue was resolved by selecting the right encoding through Tools -> Select Remote Charset in Konqueror.

In KFTPGrabber, I noticed that only by bookmarking and then selecting the right encoding, in my case mostly CD1251, in Advanced Tab, does the characters shows up correctly.

I have filed a Bug Report, though there was one such already there, hence added as a comment, mentioning that KFTPGrabber is NOT following Global Rules for Character Encoding.
