Previously, in earlier versions of Kmail I thought that I could go to a contact name information and select category.. Then do edit / add/ and submit a new category. Now it will not hold a new typed in category. Such as "Builder" It just keeps adding more selections called "New Category" What am I doing wrong.
When entering a new contact and going to categories I am unable to add a new category. I can click edit and then add after selecting categories and fill in my New Category. when I apply it the list goes back to a line reading "New Category " instead of inserting my new choice.
I have redone and refreshed everything in PGP and now it is working. Hopefully it keeps on. Sorry to bother all of you. Just cancel this for now.
I have discovered something that may be causing this/above problem. I do not know how to repair it. I am enclosing a copy f my Key management list. It seems Some copies of my key are in the sub-tree of Robbie. (the party I am trying to send encrypted mail to) I will attach the file. I hope you can read it. I did a screen print to get it and it is very small.
I am going back to Kmail after Thunderbird. When I set up my PGP to encrypt the messages it will not send after I insert the passphrase. I get a window error that reads: There are conflicting encryption preferences for these recipients. Encrypt this message? It says the message is signed after I remove the question about encrypting. and release the encryption. The only two keys I have are mine and the person I am sending the message to. I have mine in crptography in Kmail
I have the resolution correct in my windows drive. The problem is only in Kubuntu.
I installed a 22" Flat screen (for my old eyes) and tried to change the resolution. I have messed it up and now when I get to the kubuntu log in window (for username and password) it is unreadable. It has the word kubuntu all across the screen, overlapping the previous one. How can I reverse this and try to set the resolution again. Thank you
I know I can set up events in calender to remind me with a pop up window. Is there a way to set a sound or .wav to coincide with the event reminder? Thanks Dick Barmann
I think the path to the folders is: /home/dick/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/ How can I check/set that path? It seem that the path has become corrupted and my mail is getting lost. I can go to my Windows Drive and find all my mail but it does not go to the folders in KDE/Linux.
I received about 5 Emails this morning. The list to: address is cups@easysw.com. This is the only Email that is going to my folders in Kmail. I tried sending test messages and it shows in the status bar "receiving 3 messages" but they are lost If I go to synpatic and remove Kmail(it also removed kpin and some other files. Will I lose my Contacts, folders, distribution lists. Please help if you can Dick Barmann
I went to my Windows Hard drive and I had 722 Emails. Counting the Spam that Kmail would have deleted. What is the path that takes Emails to the "Inbox" I am recieveing them in KDE but theu are not showing up in the Kmail Inbox. Thanks for any advice. Dick
Since 7:48 this AM my status bar at the bottom of Kmail shows it recievring mail every 10 minutes as I have it set up. I tells me the number of messages and the size (kb). The mail is not showing up in my folders. I checked with me IP Provider and they went into my Email. They sent me an Email and also abserved mail being downloaded to me account. I recieved none of these. I have reinstalled Kmail in synpatic. no help. I am using KDE 3.5.2. Thanks for any help Dick Barmann
I have this same problem in the last 3 installs. I am using KDE 3.5.2 kubuntu. When I have an RPM package that I want to install it automatically opens "kpackage" It will not accept the root password. This same password works in a shell or any other place but never has worked in kpackage. I do install the programs using alien but wonder if this is a bug or me. Thank you.
I am using KDE 3.4.2 kubuntu. I have DSL but had my 56 Zoom v.92,V.90 Fax,Voice modem installed. I did a reinstall and now it is not found/recognixed. I had it set up so I could fax in orders directly from OpenOffice instead of printing and useing my standalone fax. My friend that helped me set it up is now in Maryland waiting for a heart transplant and I do not want to bother him to do this again. I have the driver licensed by Linuxant and my ID number but I need to find the modem first. Thanks...
I am using KDE 3.5.3 and Dapper Dan. I am trying to make a symbolic link to java. When I do this the shell says it already exists. The link is in place but says as "type" unknown and has a question mark on the face as do several other links in the same place. It also is locked and I don't know if that is how it should be or if I need to change permissions. If I need to change permissions I will need help. I go to root but cannot change the libjavaplugin_oji.so Thanks Dick

I have upgraded to kopete 0.12.1 beta. I use kubuntu /KDE 3.5.0. When I try to connect to kopete it will keep the icon flashing and say "connecting" not "conected" I have checked and reset my password. This is using Yahoo
I let it remove Kmymoney after protecting my data. I did the "kde-devel" install and tried to install "Plugger" again and get the same result. While runing the script it checks for X11 and finds "X11 RS" something like that. I should have writen it down. Then it still says cannot find X11 Libraries and ends the Install.
