Hi, vdboor and all, thanks for your help, problem solved, it turn out to be my stupid fault, a week ago, my ISP's DNS had some problem, so I temporarily changed the name server to one I found on the web, it belongs to the Dell network , I forgot to changed it back. Just now I ran netstat and whois, surprisingly found that kopete and kmess wanted to connect to a server also belongs to the Dell.com. Now I've changed the name server back to the ISP's, everything is OK now. My windows box's setting ...
I'll try Kmess later and post result as soon as possible, I'm now in windows.
Yes, bunch of error messages like this: "MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0" Is this related with openssl/libcrypto?

I checked both Debian and KDE bug reports and didn't find any relevant information, maybe the problem is really on my side, but I can't find any clue.
I still can't, both kopete and gaim, but can connect using Live messenger under Windows, weird problem.
Thanks for the info. I installed gaim today, same result. I'm now pretty sure that it's Raydmond's trick

On the other hand, I don't like it's idea of hidding many kde apps from kmenu - kmail, knode, kwrite, kappfinder and much more, this may make kmenu less cluttered, but very inconvenient IMHO.
Hi, gurus and experts. I have some difficulty customizing my konqueror's toolbar. How can I merge Konqi's mainbar, location bar and search bar in one row, as this picture shows: http://dot.kde.org/1111216989/1111240183…18/toolbars.png I searched the forum and found this thread: http://www.kde-forum.org/post/55725/lastpost.html#post55725 exactly as the last post said, I can remove all the widgets on the location bar, hide the location bar, then add those widgt to the main bar, but I can't add the...
`kcmshell' -- "A tool to start single KDE control modules"
Do you mean "special window settings"? It is stored in $HOME/.kde/config/kwinrulesrc.
Hi, are you using KDE 3.4, if so, try to disable the KDED Media Manager. The option is located in the "KDE Components - Service Manager" module in the K Control Center. Sorry for my poor English
