RE: Font problem after upgrading to kde 3.5.3

Yes, indeed. I currently run media-video/nvidia-kernel-1.0.8762 Could it be that the nvidia driver is causing this issue? Should I bump up the video driver version? thanks, Spiro

KDE 3.5.1 and kmail-filters

Great! It worked. Is acts as counter and determines how many filters to display. I wonder how come it is structured this way. Thank you for your solution. It is now solved. Spiro PS: Also, is it possible to treat kmail independently from kde environment? I mean, is it possible to run kde 3.1.1 with kmail latest release?

MKail and folder settings

Hi, Is it possible to allow individual folders in withing kmail to retain proper settings? Example: I have three fields (Subject, Data, and From). On folders I wish to have different fields displayed, in different order, and with different lenght. Instead, when I make changes to one it becomes that way for all folders. Is it possible to make so that when I enter each folder the blue bar that hilights the email is always on top to the first email reguardless if it is new email or read. I was not ...

KDE 3.5.1 and kmail-filters

Hi, I upgraded to kde 3.5.1 and had to create a new profile as the migration created issues. In kmail I had quite a lot of filters but I am not able to import them. I tried to manually cp them into the kmailrc file but it ignores them. Any whay to avoid creating them? Also, is it possible to treat kmail independently from kde environment? I mean, is it possible to run kde 3.1.1 with kmail latest release? Thank you, Spiro

kmail

I asked a question regarding kmail and got some answers. I wish to ask followup questions if possible: > 4) When I select one folder the highlited blue bar is never at the top on > the first email. Let's bring an example: I have Inbox selected and I > receive incoming emails. The list of email displayed does not move. So, I > have to move the side bar up to uncover the new mail. It would be more > usefull for: a) Anytime I select a folder the cursor positions itself on > top and on the first ema...

Knotes and Kontact

Hi rshol, thank you for replying to my question. I have noticed that kontact is not so 100% stable. I was using evolution and decided to focus on kontact. I hope I did not make any mistake in my choice. As for conduit, can you confirm my that in your openion and experience jpilot is much better than kpilot? If so, I guess I should un-configure my kpilot and then install jpilot and configure it with kontact. I assume it is quite simple to do so, right? But, as far as I know, I did not experience ...

KMail and curosor position

Hi, I was under the impression that the cursor bar, in within the windows that displays the emails was positioning itself to the top side automatically. My symptom is as follows: I have perhaps my cursor bar positioned to the fifth email from the top, with Date set to Up (so today's date starts from the top) When I open KMail, the cursor should position automatically to the first email on top, especially if I have new emails. This does not happend. How to fix this? It is quite annoying to go loo...

KMail & Encoding / Printing

Here my two issues: 1) when I receive mail in Greek, I do see a sequence of squares. In order to see it properly, I have to manually change the encodings from View -> Set Encodings and change it from Auto to Greek (ISO 8859-7) Only then I am able to properly see Greek fonts. Then, obviously, I have to set it back to Auto. QUESTION: What is the role of Auto in encodin...

Knotes and Kontact

Hi, I realized that knotes, in system tray, has the same notes as kontact displays. As a matter of fact, whatever I make change on knotes from system tray, it appears automatically in kontact. Is this possible/correct? If so, how to configure both so that notes will then be synked with my palm pilot? Then, because I have migrated PC, how to export my notes?. I was able to move my Mail folder so far. Lastly, is it possibile to learn all paths for each component of kontact? Thank you, Spiro

Transferring mail data from existing kmail to new kde PC

Hi, with Microsoft Outlook, in the past the .pst file could become corrupted. I do not know how kmail handles its mails. So, for integrity I mean being sure that Kmail (Mail folder and all its subfolders) and its indexes are not corrupted. It is more a Microsoft thinking. Please tell me that this only belongs to Microsoft. Here is a tangible example: I also opened a bug report. I have imported "properly" my mail from Outlook to kmail. I have several emails with attachments where the paper clip d...
