on filling up textareas on forms, wich are using a script to limit the max number of signs, Konqueror works very slow or hang up. to check put, you can use thw page www.quoka.de - its a german 'mini market' publikation. on my system Konqueror needs about 2 seconds for each letter i want to write in the textarea (other formfields are working in regular speed). Firefox (and KDE3.3 before) works normal. on a'n other site, konqueror hang up after typing the first sign in the textarea.
if you use an ISP, wich autentfication allows omly, you have to chanche the logg in Settings from PLAIN to LOGIN. My Problem, that i don't remember, the settings on 3.3...., so i use the Button 'show Server's posibilty' and i got the Answer, that only PLAIN is possible....
hi jacek, i think i have the same settings: i checked the "smtp Passwort speichern" box... (german version) whats your version of KDE? on 3.3 Kmail works without Problems on my system..
after starting Kmail, i got the question for the password for kdewallet. on my workstation i keep Kmail open und let it look all 5 minutes to my mailboxes, what's ownly (usefull) paossible if i also kdewallet hold open. My problem, and i'm sure thats not only my prob, is, that during the day always other people kan use my computer. since i made the update to 3.4 it is not possible to send out a mail... I checked my passwords, but all is the same like on 3.3 If i try to send a email, i got the message: "Authentifizierung fehlgeschlagen, An error occured during authentication: SASL(-4): no mechanism available: No worthy mechs found" System: Suse 9.0 Thanks vor your help
