I'vee been trying to compile a full version of KDE 3.3 on a Debian Sid box, since not all of 3.3 are in the Debian repositories yet (notably kdepim and kdeaddons). I successfully compiled RC2 just a couple of weeks ago but I ended up with the '&' and green space problem. I cleared away all that and now I get the following error sequence while compiling kdelibs (at least that's what I think is being compiled): Quoted /builds/kde/konstruct/libs/qt-x11-free/work/qt-x11-free-3.3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so: u...
This doesn't seem to work with ICQ though and it may not work with Jabber either. The only one it does seem to work for is MSN, which is kind of ironic since ICQ has had this notion for a long time whereas MSN does not...
I haven't tried this since I don't have the updated version, but you could try removing your existing Yahoo! account from Kopete, shutting Kopete down, restarting it and re-adding your account.
It does make sense. Bug 55221 sort of covers this issue (there may be others as well). Unfortunately there is no real resolution at present and this is definitely one of Konq's downsides. Right now I use embedding by default but when I'm in filemanager mode I just right-click on everything and select "Open With"...[/url]
If you compile Fx with GTK2 support you should be able to set the mailer in GNOME (gconf I think they call it) and then have it work, but it was always kind of hit-and-miss. This kind of nuisance was one of the reasons I switched to Konqueror for general use.
Is there any particular reason you're moving stuff over? I could probably help but it can be quite involved and time consuming (just explaining it could take awhile), especially if you're using maildir format mail folders. If it's only a small issue with KMail it would probably be easier to solve that than migrate to Thunderbird
Make sure you have the konq-nsplugins package installed. If you want Tools like the UA changer and archiver you need the konq-plugins package.
Here's what I do: Create a file called .Xmodmap in your home dir. It contains: [code:1] keycode 115=F13 keycode 116=F14 keycode 117=F15 [/code:1] This binds Win-L to F13, Win-R to F14 and that context menu type button to F15. To get X to see this run [code:1] ~$ xmodmap .Xmodmap [/code:1] I put a script in KDE's Autostart dir to run this every time KDE starts up. It's a little, hacky, but it works. There's probably a way to have X do this rather than KDE. The disadvantage is that you lose the ab...
Oh man... you'd think this would be easy but it's not. This used to work for me, but no longer. Maybe you'll have more luck with it: [code:1] /usr/sbin/chat '' ATZ OK ATDP%N < /dev/ttyS0 > /dev/ttyS0 [/code:1] I can't seem to use chat anymore, which is the main problem I think. Beats me why (Debian Sid).
Kopete is sitting in my system tray right now. Kopete Debian Packages And there's your definitive answer...
Ya, that is a bit redundant. Firefox has it since the new tab button isn't on the tab bar and isn't even on a toolbar by default. What Konq does need is to open in a new tab from middle-clicks of items in the bookmarks toolbar. Would also be good on the konq-rellinks bar too.
Quoted Original von scanwinder Konqueror sux as a web browser.....i installed Mozilla & i'm using that. At least they make it easy to install plugins in that. thanks anyway You couldn't have looked too hard. It's right there in the Settings dialogue under plugins no less. You could have installed your Flash plugin anywhere and then just told Konq where to look for it. The only reason it's easier in Mozilla (if it is easier) is that the installers from Flash integrate a bit better owing to its N...
It's a bit weird, but here we go: Add the kweather applet to your toolbar. Then you'll have to configure the applet for the locations of choice. When that is done, you can add it to Kontact: Settings | Configure Kontact Then check the weather plugin. You'll have to restart Kontact as well.
It was removed for stability issues according to a bug report I read: Bug 65403
Many Cell/Mobile Phone companies allow for the sending of SMS messages to various IM protocols. Anyway, when my girlfriend attempted to send me a message that way from her cell to my ICQ account I didn't receive it when using Kopete 0.8. I switched over to licq and it worked there when she sent me another. Has anyone got this to work with Kopete (has anyone ever even tried this...?).
