I've recently encountered the same issue. When I 'Test Sound' in the control center's Sound/Multimedia -> Sound System, the sound works just fine and you can see the output in the Arts Control Tool when the sound plays. It's just the Notifications that have stopped working. Under the System Notifications -> Actions you can test the notification sound with the play button but nothing happens. Really odd.
You can find a lot at www.deviantart.com.
Are there any syntax changes from 4.x to 5.x?
Kopete isn't available for windows. I'd recommend Trillian for windows.
??? I'm confused. As far as I know, Kopete doesn't go out and 'Read' anybody's away messages. It simply receives away messages from contacts when they change their online status.
Quoted Original von javock Please don't flame me, I was just upset by an erase that I shouldn't have done and the trashcan was useles because I bypassed it because I'm not confortable with the current implementation... If my reply came across as a flame, my apologies. I really only intended to be helpful, perhaps I responded with to much of a 'Matter of Fact' attitude.
Then don't use the trashcan. You can go to Control Center -> KDE Components -> File Manager -> Behavior, Then check the box Show 'Delete' menu entries which bypass the traschcan.
That's really odd, for as long as I can remember ICQ always limited you to 8 digits in the password (and I've been using it a looooong time).
Which network can you not log into? I have noticed MSN acting a bit flakey lately.
Just click on the Home icon of the filemanager and see what directory it puts you in.
Here ya go. It's a pretty common problem. http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/index.php?showtopic=1088
I don't know that I'd class Gentoo as the Future of linux distros. Especially since it's basic premise is to remain true to the linux core administration and management (with the exception of emerge which is a streamlined package management tool). The strength in Gentoo is that packages are compiled to your system's specific structure which is nice. However installation could be improved upon. Sure cultists like to brag they installed with Stage 1, however there is absolutely no way I'm going to...
Select the message you would like to create the filter for. Select Tools -> Create Filter -> Filter on From (or Filter on Subject). You'll then get this window... The From or Subject information will already be filled out for you (depending on which filter option you chose above). You can then add another Filter Criteria if you like. Change Filter Action to Execute Command, and select the command/program/application to execute.
From what little I've played with it, you need to install xcompmgr (which I used to get the shadows) and transset to get transparencies to work. I can't recall the exact website, it was after finding an obscure link via google/linux. I didn't play with it very long though, as it's still buggy as hell. If you have an NVidia card there is an option to use it to accelerate the 2D display. Otherwise the shadows make everything extremely slow. About the best I could use it for was to look at it and s...
One or two of styleclock's themes is numerical/digital as well. Much easier to read than the default kde clock, no matter how small... here's a snapshot.
Setup Konqueror the way you want it, then select Settings -> Save View Profile . Save it for each profile (ie. webbrowser, filemanager etc...)
I figger'd I'd just reawaken this post since my question is similar (and so I guess I can throw in an opinion while I'm at it). As for rank images, that'd kinda clutter up the box on the left. As it is, there's already an avatar and stat bars. Adding another image may be a bit much. As for my questions... I'm curious, I've figger'd out on my own what one of the stat bars on the left represents, and that'd be the post count until next level (exp meaning experience I guess). The green bar (which i...
Quoted Original von nogburt I have found it quite annoying that the major graphics card companies don't have their linux drovers anywhere near the level as their windows drivers. At least they could make a small attempt at getting some features in linux. Actually, I find that the drivers have advanced by leaps and bounds within the last year. There is definately a marked focus on linux by NVidia and ATI. Based on the last year's progress, there is a definate momentum building. More game develop...
You can runn ./kappfinder from the console (if that's one you've already deleted from the menu) which can scan for apps not on the menu. It should find all the apps you deleted from the menu.
Which distro of Linux are you using?
