Noatun and Juk Playing MP3s on Fedora

I have seen many posts around the Internet about getting Noatun and/or Juk to play MP3 files on Fedora. Invariably, the person who asks the question is told to install xmms and the xmms-mp3 plugin. I have not seen any solid info on how to get it to work with Noatun or Juk. I have it working on my system, and just wanted to post how I did it in case anybody else is still searching. TagLib, Lame problems while trying to compile KDE from CVS

I am tying to compile kdemultimedia from CVS. I followed instructions that said I should install kdeextragear-2 first because it contains TagLib. But, even so, configure is throwing errors telling me that neither TagLib or Lame is on my system. I installed Lame via a Fedora RPM, and that is definitely present. I am running Fedora Core 1. Amy

KDE not starting!

One question: When you upgraded parts of KDE, were you in KDE at the time or at a console login or in Gnome? When I didn't read the directions and tried to upgrade KDE while logged in, I ended up with the same problems. I took the lazy way out and reinstalled everything and upgraded KDE while in console mode. Amy
