Hello, people! First of all, sorry about my poor english. I have the stable source code of KDE 3.4. I am installing it and I am stopped in the step what arts needs to find Qt 3.3.2. Good, Qt is already compiled and installed without problems with this line: ./configure -system-zlib -qt-gif -system-libpng \ -system-libjpeg -plugin-imgfmt-mng -thread -no-stl \ -no-xinerama -no-g++-exceptions make arts says this in config.log file: configure:32568: checking for Qt configure: 32639: /usr/local/qt-3....
Hi people! in the KDE web, I can't see any official package for Debian. Curious, I think. Exists, yes, varius UNOFFICIAL packages for some distributions, but why no the official packages por the habitual distibutions (RedHat, Debian, etc)?
Yes, glib is installed in my installation dir. The configure script of arts haven't a option for explicit glib directory. In the config.log, I only see this: configure:38088: checking for IRIX configure:38099: result: "no" configure:38125: checking for pkg-config configure:38143: found /usr/bin/pkg-config configure:38156: result: /usr/bin/pkg-config configure:38180: checking for GLib-2.0 (at least 1.3.3) configure:38204: result: not installed configure:38208: error: Please install glib-2.0 (see ...
I am using stable source code, not apt-get In my version of glib, glib-2.0.0, I have binary files, include files, lib files, man files, etc.
Debian:/usr/src/KDE-3.2.3/arts-1.2.3# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/Apps/KDE-3.2.3 --with-qt-dir=/usr/local/qt-x11-free-3.2.3/ checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu (etc) checking for IRIX... And yes, I have glib-2.0...
Sorry, a lapsus: I have installed NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run driver under kernel 2.6.7, the driver runs fine
Exactly, this: Bus 1, device 0, function 0: VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV34 [GeForce FX 5200] (rev 161). IRQ 10. Master Capable. Latency=248. Min Gnt=5.Max Lat=1. Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xf8000000 [0xf8ffffff]. Prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xf0000000 [0xf7ffffff]. KDE 3.2.3 have any problem with de nvidia video cards?
Searching in the net, I found this: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/XDMCP-HOWTO/index.html I think this is the XDMCP what you say, but, and I say but, I compiled XFree86-4.4.0 from stable source code AND the XDMCP support disabled. KDE 3.2.3 needs XDMCP enabled?
Where I can disable XDCMP? In the configure options of arts I can see it?
Hi people. I am using KDE 3.0.0, Qt 3.2.3 and gcc 3.1.1. I am trying to compile KDE 3.2.3 from stable source code, and the qt library is not detected. Example: Debian:/usr/src/KDE-3.2.3/arts-1.2.3# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/Apps/KDE-3.2.3 --with-qt-dir=/usr/local/qt-3.2.3/ --with-qt-includes=/usr/local/qt-3.2.3/include/ --with-qt-libraries=/usr/local/qt-3.2.3/lib/ checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking target system type... i...
I am using KDE 3.2 and I want to update to 3.2.2. I was download the stable source code but in configure of kdelibs, I have this error: Qt 3.2 not detected. Of course, is installed  Ideas?, Thanks
I am using KDE 3.2, installed from stable source code, and Xmms not run. I try to use xmms from console inside of KDE and says all the time "device or resource busy". In KDE 3.1.4 Xmms ran perfect. KDE 3.1.4 was installed from stable source code. Any idea?
I am using KDE 3.2, and compiling KDE 3.2.1. Of course I use GLib 2.0 in the 2.0 version. The configure script of arts not detect my glib version, and all of my system iwas compiled with stable source code. I have similar problem when compiling KDE 3.2, and in these case the problem was pkgconfig are a incorrect version (strange, but yes). I tried the method again, but now not run. The method was: export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/lib/pkgconfig I was tried this compiling arts ...
Curious. In the stderr says 'not found', and exists in the path I was solved this writing the exact path. Example: The script is in /home/Altair/Launch_App Launch_App have: ------------------ #!/bin/bash export DISPLAY=:0.0 /usr/local/bin/my_app ------------------ I am testing different positions, at this moment, runs okay Thanks for all
Yes, in the Linux virtual terminal I can run manually the script, this works.
I was had similar problem when I updated KDE 3.1.4 to KDE 3.2 using stable source code. I was deleted in my home: .kde .kderc and then all run perfect
I think, yes. In the terminal of X (inside KDE), the script launch my app without problems. In cron, of my user again. the script not launch. I see a strange opcion: when the time of the job arribes, the option called "Execute Now" in secondary menu of mouse is turn on.
#!/bin/bash set DISPLAY=:0 export DISPLAY my_app This is the script what cron executes, but not run. I can lauch this manually, and then run. I thin the error is in DISPLAY, but I am searching in the configuration files of X11 and I only see this: :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X With the set command, I see: set DISPLAY=:0.0 I tried with this, but not run. ¿Maybe because the root launch X and my user launch my_app?
Hi guys I need to launch some apps of KDE 3.2 usint KCron, or similar, but I think cron is only for console programs. Some people says cron have not access to X server. Ideas? :?
Not. When compile I am using the Qt 3.2.3, in the configure script I was put this: --with-qt-dir=/usr/local/qt-3.2.3 Strange
