i don't know how to do that but i also can't find something. how can i make new files open in new tab? i have them all in one which makes using kate annoying. and it is my favourite editor ever.
you mean in control center->kde components->service manager? i don't know i've always been wondering what is it for when no load-on-demand-service can be started or stopped there
that's what my parents used to say: don't do this! don't do that!
Quoted Original von jago25_98 - probably a kde init thing but if you mount a cd, view it with konq, close konq and try to umount to cd it fails because kdeinit sometimes keeps a process open on /mnt/cdrom. you then have to kill kdeinit manually. i have the same problem. restarting fam with /etc/init.d/fam restart (on debian) helps. but not always. it doesn't help with digital camera.
i don't know. maybe you saved your session after using nautilus with drawing your backround turned on? turn this off in gnome configuration editor and save your session without nautilus running.
maybe nautilus was drawing the desktop background? were you using it when you saw this flashing background?
well, you must be unlucky person. i gave kde a try few months ago, just before kde 3.2 was released and i'm gonna stay with it because my experience is just opposite. it's stable, all the configuration is in one place, the number of errors i got is extremely low and it's fast.
hi, i installed kexi /from unofficial debian package/ and i can't create a project because my driver list is empty. where can i get MySQL driver?
end of alert! it's not kde problem. i noticed that something's wrong with swap, all this slowdown was because of kswapd taking too much cpu. i checked my system and found that i have no swap at all! i checked fstab, partition table and it appeared that partitions numbers changed. why? because i re-installed windows xp /i need it for recording music on my net md/ on my laptop... so now i'm back with fast kde great!
how do i completely turn it off?! i don't want to use it, i don't need it and it really slows down my machine. there is an option to choose your favourite but my favourite is 'absent' and there is no option for that.
same problem here. i used unofficial debs from repositories i found on apt-get.org and it was fast. after upgrading to official unstable it became very slow. i realize that my computer isn't fast /it's duron 850 mhz/ but it worked smoothly. that was the reason why i switched to kde from gnome. and i really started wondering about switching back.
i have the same problem but only with mozilla firefox. other gtk2 apps are ok. i'm using debian unstable.
i have this problem when i have to reboot after my system freezes. kde looses some of its settings.
thanks! i thought it's konqueror thing and i didn't look anywhere else.
i don't want konqueror to open things - i want it to select them with single click. how do i make it? where is the option to change it? thanks
