LOL! You're right. I don't know where I got the idea it was rc1 unless I was looking at the KOffice headline. Now I really feel like an idiot. In addition, the comments from 3.1.93 (which is what I attempted to install) indicated that there was actually major conflicts for some people (with Suse 8.2). I think I was completely asleep when I attempted to do this. May I say, in defense, that I had hurt my back the day prior, and had been on drugs that day? These are actually RPMs that are "optimized" for Suse. It wasn't actually the beta, it was release candidate 1, which should be darn close to the final release, at least that's what I was hoping. I was kind of wanting to check out some of the changes to Quanta, hoping that it's getting better. I had successfully upgraded KDE once upon a time on a RH box, but it's been quite some time. Okay, I'm probably a moron, but I'd like to do this right, or at least fix what I screwed up. This is so fundamental, I'm sorry if I insult your intelligence/level of expertise. I couldn't find another thread this basic. I downloaded the 3.2rc1 files. Am I supposed to install over the current KDE (3.1.4)? I attempted that at first, but everything was conflicting. Then I placed the /opt/kde3 folder into the trash can (in Gnome) then attempted to install from a Terminal window. I think kde3libs in...
