i experience strange freezes of most apps (kwrite, konqueror, kmail) after trying to perform arbitrary actions (like mail send/contact seeking in kaddressbook etc.) Some apps also freeze at startup. Freeze takes about 3-5 minutes, then all goes back to life.

hi, i'm using kde3.1.4 from ftp.kde.org ( binaries for RH9 ) i have installed kdebase/libs/utils etc. so probably everything must work fine...but when i try launching an application (.desktop file ) from either desktop , or from K Menu->Run, it displays an "Open With..." dialog and leave me wondering... The problem happens if .desktop file has Url field. Files with Exec field do start properly. Also it happens if a url is a directory, and not a file. Imagine i click Trash icon on my desktop and ...
