Hi, It seems some people have been able to get the patch working, but I've not had any luck so far. My setup: SuSE 9.0 pro KDE 3.3.1 (this is newer than the version of KDE that ships with SuSE 9.0, installed via rpm) Kopete version 0.9.2 Since there are no RPM's that I could find for kopete 0.9.2 on SuSE 9.0, I downloaded the source tarball for kopete 0.9.2, compiled and installed it. Other than the msn protocol, this works fine. When I try to install the new libraries, the msn protocal disappea...
So, I found where to configure the old behavior of kopete 0.8.4 to use control-ener to send messages rather than just enter: In under Settings-->Configure Shortcuts you can set "Send Message" to control-enter. However, you must do this inside a chat window. If you try and configure shortcuts in the contact list, only the shortcuts for the contact list will show up, and "Send Message" will not be there.
So, it seems that there may have actually been a bug in kopete 0.8.4 and earlier that is now fixed in 0.9.0... First off, you can ignore warnings about not being able to validate ssl certificates. You'll get these errors connecting to any jabber server using a self-signed certificate. Since getting a certificate signed by a recognized signature authority costs money, and most jabber servers are set up by volunteers, you'll need to ignore these warnings with most servers. When the warning pops up...
Hi, I have to two problems with 0.9.0 that I'm hoping someone can help me with. First off, I connect to a jabber server inside the company I work for. This server is configured to ONLY allow ssl authenticated connections. When I try to connect with 0.9.0, I get: "Certificate of server [server name] could not be validated for account [account name] : The Certificate Authority is invalid." I push "continue" and get: "There was an error authenticating with the server: No appropriate authentication ...
I'm stuck on KDE 3.1.4 and can't upgrade to KDE 3.2 because of new "feature" added to KDE 3.2. I am now no longer able to position the top of a window off the top edge of the screen. I'd like to be able to do this again -- any idea how I do this? Why on earth would I need to do such a thing? Well, here's why: At work the standard desktop OS is Windows. Several applications I have to run on a daily basis are windows only, and don't run under wine. So, I HAVE to run windows SOMEWHERE. However, I l...
I compiled kopete version 0.8.0 for KDE 3.1.4 on SuSE 9.0, and have been using it quite happily for some time. However, I tend to leave my computer up for months at a time, and so kopete is also up for months at a time. When a connection is lost on msn or jabber, I get a warning that this has occured. However, if I leave kopete logged into yahoo overnight, it will disconnect (i.e. to everyone else I seem to be offline) but there is no warning. Also, I loose the ability to detect when my yahoo co...
