I guess you mean you can't close KDE ? I had similar problems on both MacosX (solved now) and on Windows/Cygwin, and the trick I found was to run in a terminal: kdeinit_shutdown that simply does what it says.
Mandrake 9.1 . Probably cause Mdk has been marketted well in France ? I'm ready to change to any distro that would make my nm256 audio chip work though ! Anyway on the KDE forum I must say that regardless of Linux I'm a total KDE addict so I also use it at work on Mac (thru X11 and FinkCommander) and on Windows (through Cygwin) ... I just love the Konkeror file manager with tabbed views and the ability to call a terminal in a folder by right clicking on it.

I'm neither Japanese nor Chinese but need to use (type and read) these languages on my computers (they have KDE whether they are Linux, Mac or Windows). My big problem is all the posts helping on configuring these languages are either in Japanese or Chinese, that are still slow to read for me.
