Kicker Panel Crashes (SIGSEV) at Shutdown

Quoted Am I the only one that's ever had this problem? No, I've got it as well, but it's less annoying than konqueor crashing when I try to view directory properties, so I'm ignoring it for now. Just letting you know you're not alone! miscreant

Konqueror directory properties crash

Not completely sure where to put this, but currently Konqueror crashes whenever I right click -> properties on a directory. This is on Kubuntu 5.04. I've tried reinstalling the packages from the CD, but that didn't fix it, so I'm hoping the attached crash backtrace might be useful to someone wiser than I. Thanks, miscreant

how do i edit the system menu

I figured that was the case. Was just hoping because the description for the kmenuedit application says that it can edit both the user and system menu, but if that's true I have no idea how to start it in the mode to edit the default menu. As for editing it as a user then copying, that doesn't really work because KDE combines them, so the user applnk directory will only have differences from the original applnk directory. Already tried that. Will have to just edit the usr/kde/3.1/share/applnk di...

how do i edit the system menu

I've got KDE 3.1 and I want to edit the default menu for all users. If I right click on the K-Menu and use the menu editor, it will make the changes for that user (or root if I'm logged in as root), but I want to make changes to the default menu (/usr/kde/3.1/share/applnk). Do I have to do that manually or is there a way to get the menu editor to edit that path? Thanks, Miscreant

Gentoo as well

Gentoo here as well. Excellent distro. I originally tried installing a couple of other distros. Namely Redhat and Mandrake. Redhat was a pain in the ass I found, but I did run Mandrake for a while. The problems came when I wanted to recompile the kernel to add ACPI support. When I did that with Mandrake it seemed to break every damn thing. So at that point I found Gentoo and got interested. I have to admit that it did take a hell of a long time to get everything running (like a whole weekend of ...

Screensavers misssing!

I've got KDE running pretty much how I want it to, but I have a problem with the screensavers. They don't show up for regular users. Only for the root user. Anybody know why this would be? Is there a special group I have to put the user in or something? The screen savers actually DO show up on the KMenu for some reason, and will run from there, but I'd rather I could configure them from the Configure Desktop applet. Thanks, Miscreant
