change colours via command line?

Wondering how KDE actually changes colour themes through the kcontrol. Does it fire scripts in the background that make the changes? Here's what I want to do.... I set up konqueror to dispay various HTML based side panels for certain profiles. I would like to create different coloured side bars, but keep them TIED to the colour selections in kcontrol. I was thinking that if by selecting a colour scheme and clicking apply it runs a script in the background, that I could modify that script to also...

kdesu konqueror & --profile????

Hi! I'm a lycoris user, almost intermediate with linux, trying to modify some konq profiles. Here's the thread at www.lycoris.org that details this issue: http://www.lycoris.org/viewtopic.php?top…rum=20&start=15 Perhaps kfmclient could solve this problem, but I'm not sure. i have the profile that works as regular user, but refuses to display the way i want it to running kdesu konqueror. If anyone could spare the time and perhaps offer a fresh viewpoint, or even point out anything silly that we m...

using windows keys

Nice link!! Thank you!! For the clickety click challenged people out there: Quoted To use the Windows keys in Linux you have to remap them. This is a possibility to map them to the keys F13 and F17: Add the following lines in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/40custom_load-xmodmap : xmodmap -e "keycode 115=F13" xmodmap -e "keycode 117=F17" After that and a X-Server reboot you can assign F13 and F17 to special tasks in the KDE control center.

Installing New Fonts (RH 9.0 w/ KDE 3.1)

what icon sets are you trying, and where are you getting them from? i get all mine from kde-look and haven't had a problem. i always click the folder to find the tar file I downloaded, then I click install new theme. then you should see it in the list of available icon themes. for example, the noia icons should work fine for you...they did for me. try them: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=3883

What do you think about register before post?

it's the right thing to do..... it eliminates alot of mindless trolling, and can help lead to a stronger feeling of "community".

perhaps this link will help you: http://mandrakeforum.com/article.php?sid=2160&lang=en it's for mandy 8.2, but still relevant for your scanner. also, lots of good info here, along with some other helpful links. http://www.buzzard.org.uk/jonathan/scanners-usb.html good luck! as for me, I have a HP scanjet 3570c, but it's not yet supported in linux.

Tab behavior (behaviour) in Konqueror

I find the tabbed browsing in konq clumsy too. The settings options need to be expanded and clarified. I'd also like to see some Lotus Notes like functions like dragging and dropping items onto tabs to move them while using konq in file manager mode. It's a good start, and it will ge better with future releases. my issues are verbatim what jfernau said.
