konqueror renaming files on its own

If you mount manually with fs type vfat, do you have the same probs? Please open a konsole and type in mount (as root!). This will show you all mounted devices incl. fs type. May be, you are using fs type msdos or umsdos. Hans

New user and password changing.

useradd newuser e.g. useradd konceptor shoud work. Should work in all distributions. Using gui tools like redhat-config-users its also a good idea. This is for RedHat, but IMO there are a lot of tools in other distributions. have also a look into man useradd or with gui press <Alt> + <F2> and type in #useradd

Missing Fonts in KDE 3.1

Hi all I have updated my KDE 3.0.5 and RH8 to KDE 3.1 and RH 9. Works fine, but I'm missing many fonts, e.g. true types, which I can see with xfontsel. I'm not sure, this was working in KDE 3.0.5. How to install it! xfs is running. Hans [code:1][hans@rosi hans]$ rpm -q qt kdebase XFree86 qt-3.1.1-6 kdebase-3.1-12 XFree86-4.3.0-2 [hans@rosi hans]$ [/code:1]
