Oh, forgive my confusion. Now I understand. I don't think Konqueror has that yet. Yes, I'm a keyboard freak my self. I prefer using the keyboard over the mouse. It's sometimes more efficient. Unfortunately, most developers design their apps assuming everyone owns or uses the mouse exclusively. You could set up a bugzilla account and report it as a bug under wishlist. Good Luck. If you are referring to text completion, it already has it. Steps: 1). Right click anywhere within the location bar 2). Go to Text completion 3). Click on it 4). Select which type of text completion suits you (manual, automatic, drop down list, etc) Have fun
Hello, I need any assistance in setting up KMail to use postfix as an smtp server. I have postfix installed and setup, however, I do not know how to set up KMail to use postfix as the smtp server for sending mails. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Regards, Mystilleef
Guarddog rocks!!!! Thanks. :-) Now I can throw away the iptable manual. :-) regards, Mystilleef
I realized nobody mentioned our favorite, KGhostView.
Yes, I may help you, but you have to specific as to exactly what you want. Do you want to install icons? Do you want to install window decorations? Do you want to install styles? Do you want to install splash screens? Do you want to install color-schemes? And so on. In my opinion, all the above mentioned categories fall under themes. And all of them are installed differently. While you are at it, have a look at the Gorrila themes, (i.e Gorrila window decoration for iceWM, Gorrila icons, Gorrila ...
Hmmm...I guess I owe you a beer then.
Hello community, I use Konqueror, my favorite web browser. I need advice on the optimal cache setting for Konqueror. Is higher better? I've observed the optimal cache setting for different browsers vary. Your input is much appreciated. Regards, Mystilleef
Hello, I use Konqueror because it has a harmonic balance of speed, features, functionality and configurability. A few days ago, I was provided a link that contained some information I was particulary interested in. Unfortunately, it was a link to German website and I can neither speak nor read German. I remembered Konqueror provides a translation tool via bablefish. I promptly activated the tool and voila the whole website was translated from German to English. The translation quality wasn't fla...
Quoted Original von anda_skoa CFLAGS, LDFLAGS or MAkEFLAGS are just normal evironment variables. If you want all software compiled on your system to use a standardizes setting, you just set them in a global file like /etc/profile If you want them local for one user, you set them in ~/.bashrc or similar. I have only set CFLAGS for the account I do most development in to make sure I always compile with -Wall The point is, if you want to do it systemwide, there is nothing stopping you from doing s...
Quoted Original von anda_skoa I get the picture, but I still think 20mins for the whole KDE is to short. It would mean that one could compile KDE in about an hour using todays machines, which is not possible. Not to be picky or anything, but the hypothetical computer specification is five times faster than your average 2GHz machine by todays standard. Improving FSB from todays 200MHz to 1.2Ghz is quite an advancement, and that alone should drastically reduce compilation time. My 2GHz machine 26...
Quoted Original von anda_skoa We obviously have different machines. On my machine it takes longer to comile and install a source package than to install a precompiled one. I don't dispute the fact that compiling and installing a package, KDE especially, is more time consuming than installing a package's precompiled binaries. My argument is that that notion it fast becoming a moot point as hardware become advanced, powerful and sophisticated. Quoted Original von anda_skoa Yes, I know that. My co...
Quoted Original von anda_skoa Gentoo is Debian for people with too much time, fast processors and a need for additonal speed ups who do not know about apt-source  Cheers, _ I disagree. Gentoo is not Debian. And if it bears and resemblance to any package manager, it has to be FreeBSD's package management system. The optimization, configurability and customizability in Gentoo provides are absolutely lacking in Debian or any other Linux distribution I know of, with the exception of Linux fro...
Yes, it is in Kontact right now.
I've used Kmail ever since I began using Linux and have never experienced any problems. If you're a little patient, you'll have kontact to look forward to in KDE-3.2. It's supposed to make evolution cry. Regards, Mystilleef
Mplayer plays all the available media format to date. However, installing Mplayer manually can be a pain. If you have a great package manager, it should install all the media codecs available for mplayer as well as all the necessary dependencies for you automagically. All you probably have to do afterwards is the configure mplayer to your desire. Regards, Mystilleef
Quoted Original von xastor i'll check gentoo out for sure, as soon as I get my new disk :p i'm kinda hesitant to run it as a server.. not sure if it's as rockstable as I would want it to be.. I've run Gentoo's unstable ports for over six months now. I'm yet to come accross any problems. This goes to say Gentoo's stable ports, preferable for your server, should be rock solid. Regards, Mystilleef
It works automagically on Gentoo. I'm viewing a Java enabled site as I speak. Regards, Mystilleef
