Hello, This is my problem, when I log in to linux ( I use slackware 8.1 with kde 3.1), on the command promt I see who I am and in which directory I am. I also see the files in diferent colors. However if I startkde, and I go to console the prompt that I got is bash-2.05# and nothing else When I change directory it doesn't show and all is black and whit and doesn't show my user name. Er.. Me again, sort it. The problem was that I didn't download the proper modules ie: kdesk-3.1.tar I had kdesk-3.1-i386-1.tgz When I decompress the first the folder was created and the ./configure worked. Thanks

I'm using slackware 8.1 In fact kde3.1 is up and running but only because arts, kdelibs and kdebase were configured and make and make install.
