Have you configured wpa in your wireless router? wlassistant wouldn't show it if the router hasn't been set up.
I have looked at kcontrol and I can't find any setting options for this feature. I am using kde3.5.6 kubuntu6.10
I get frustrated when i open a new window whilst working on the original. The new window opens over the one I am working on and I have to stop what I am doing to move it. I would like the new window to open behind or minimised is this possible.
This may not be your answer but there is a program called gears which does what you say. It is used for measuring frame rates. you may of actioned it in error.
OOPs! Sorry Konqueror crashes but only when connected to web. I use cups for printing and to get around the problem I have to save the page and then open it when I am not connected. The page then prints.
