The standard drivers have no 3d-acceleration you should install the drivers from ATI. (On the Website of ATI)

The problems is that while playing any musci using xmms for example the sounds stops for a few seconds and then resumes upon opening of any program or while browsing the internet.Even scrolling down a page causes it to hang for 1 sec or so. Open Office offers in it's new version (1.1 RC) Flash export for the presenter. OK, it's not KDE, but there is no other way I know.
